A Calm Start to Inspire Lifelong Learning

Our Infants program provides a safe and holistically nurturing environment for children aged 6 weeks to 2.5 years. Every child is known, cared for, and supported to explore. We focus on relationships, routines, and hands-on discovery, taking baby steps to build the foundations for a lifelong love of learning.

  • Sensory Discovery: Babies learn by doing. Using safe, stimulating materials, we encourage babies to be inquisitive and explore texture, colour, light and sound.
  • Developmental Milestones: From motor skills like grasping, rolling and crawling, to language development, social interactions and cognitive skills, we respond to each child’s rhythm and guide their growth.
  • Secure Attachment: Teddington Bears is a place where children feel genuinely cared for. Our Circle of Security approach and high educator-to-child ratios support emotional development from day one.
  • Encouraged to Explore: Even before they can speak, your child is incredibly inquisitive. We gently guide them to explore early STEM concepts through cause and effect, volume, movement and texture.

Creating Calm Routines

Our schedule balances familiar routines with flexibility to meet each child’s needs. We take the time to really know your child, responding to their cues and creating a secure care environment.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to bring?

We provide nappies, wipes, sunscreen, bedding, bottles, and formula if required. You only need to bring a labelled change of clothes and any comfort items your child uses, like a dummy or comforter. If your child has special formula or feeding needs, we’ll work with you to ensure they are provided for.

You’ll receive daily updates via our secure online platform. These include sleep and meal details, photos, and stories about your child’s day. We schedule periodic parent-educator meetings to discuss your child’s development, and publish a monthly newsletter with centre updates and upcoming events.

In between, you’re welcome to chat in person, over the phone, or book a longer conversation anytime. You can learn more and find parent-friendly resources on our For Families page.

We follow your baby’s home routine as closely as possible. Our educators adapt daily schedules to make sure every child gets enough sleep, nourishment, play time, and social interaction. Nappy changes happen when your child needs them. As they grow, we support them to gently adjust into a shared group rhythm.

Teddington Bears Early Learning Centre is open from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. We kindly ask that you allow enough time for drop-off and pick-up, as this helps your child to transition calmly between their home environment and early childhood care.
